Hi, I’m Iris Ackerman!

Welcome to my website! I am a Chinese Medicine therapist, Rehabilitative Yoga practitioner, and Yoga instructor. I am an experienced therapist of many years, offering a variety of therapeutic tools aimed at leading you to healing and recovery..

My Special Qualities
Over the years, I have specialized in Acupuncture, Herbal Medicine, Nutrition, Shiatsu, Tui Na, and Yoga. I have studied these therapeutic tools in-depth; they are an integral and essential part of my treatment. Combining these tools allows me to provide a holistic and comprehensive treatment tailored to your needs. The common thread among all these treatment methods is the wisdom of the Far East, which believes in the body and mind's ability to heal themselves.

What I Do Today
I treat patients and teach Yoga in a private clinic in Beit Hakerem, Jerusalem, and Nataf near Mevasseret Zion. I've been teaching Chinese Medicine for over a decade at Reidman College.
I conduct Yoga and meditation retreats and courses.

A Bit About Me
Above all, I am a partner to Assaf and a mother to two wonderful children. I live in Nataf in the Judean Hills, which has been my home for many years.

Every year, I work and study to gain inspiration and improve my abilities as a therapist. Currently, I am learning Yoga for treating post-traumatic stress disorder patients.

I aim to share my knowledge and experience to help people improve their quality of life.

Course of Treatment

The conditions and diseases I treat with Chinese medicine include:

  • Orthopedic and pain issues
  • Digestive system problems
  • Autoimmune diseases
  • Gynecology and Fertility
  • Metabolic diseases
  • Fibromyalgia

About the Treatment
In my clinic, I meet people who come following crises, and I am excited to accompany them on their path to recovery. I believe that every crisis holds potential for growth and renewal. Treatment with Chinese Medicine and Yoga helps us move smoothly with the changes in our lives and find our inner balance.

Duration and Nature of Treatment

In most cases, treatment with Chinese Medicine and Rehabilitative Yoga is a process that lasts for weeks to months. However, there are cases where a single acute treatment is sufficient, or conversely, treatments may continue for years.

I offer a 15-minute introductory meeting at no cost. This can be either face-to-face or via Zoom. The meeting is designed to let us get to know each other and ensure a good personal connection.

The first session is diagnostic. In Chinese medicine and yoga therapy, diagnosis stems from observation, touch, and listening. The Clinical examination dialogue is detailed and comprehensive, especially for internal diseases.
In addition to questioning, equally important are: the patient's appearance, body posture, facial and body diagnosis, tongue diagnosis, abdominal diagnosis, pulse, appearance of nails, and so on.

During the first session, advice on lifestyle changes is usually given, and it's possible to order an herbal medicine formula. There are cases where the first session includes treatment. At the end of the session, you will receive an estimate of the expected duration of the treatment period and the therapeutic tools that will be used in the treatment process.

Session Duration
The first treatment lasts an hour to an hour and a half, and subsequent treatments usually last an hour.

Education and Experience

I have been practicing Yoga and meditation since the age of 18. My connection to Yoga led me to become interested in Eastern philosophies and, later in life, to study Chinese Medicine.

I have been a Chinese Medicine therapist since 2010. In the past, I studied Chinese Medicine for four years at Reidman College while simultaneously studying Zen Shiatsu at Maga School.

After completing my studies, I worked at Clalit Health Services as a Tui Na and Shiatsu therapist, and at the same time, I began working on the teaching staff at Reidman College.

I continued to develop in the field, studying many advanced courses and traveling to Taiwan to study acupuncture according to Master Tung's method.
In 2012, I established Nu-wa, a complementary medicine treatment center in Beit Hakerem, Jerusalem.

In 2020, I completed a three-year yoga course at Wingate Institute, followed by further studies in Rehabilitative Yoga.

In 2022, I worked in the maternity department at Hadassah Hospital.
